Hope you guys are having a great week! It snowed in Boston over the weekend and it was the most exciting thing ever! It was the first snow of the year (in Boston) and with it happening on the weekend it just felt so cozy. We stocked up on wine + snacks and had such a great weekend. And sadly, today it rained so it has already melted! Although… there’s always a silver lining… What doesn’t make it to Instagram? How annoying it is to dig out your car after it snows. Those in New England know the struggle! I’m happy to say that since I commute to work on public trans now, I could just wait for the rain to come so I didn’t have to shovel out my car. Ohhh, the little things in life! On a side note: I’ve officially been at my new job for just over a month! So crazy that it’s gone so fast. I’m loving it, and the girls on my team have felt like instant friends! 🙂
I recently partnered with DSW to share some of my favorite shoe trends for winter and while it may seem a bit cliché, I have to say, I still can’t get enough of over the knee boots! I put together this winter going-out outfit and paired it with over the knee boots. While it’s usually easy to put together a “going-out” outfit for summer, it starts to not feel so easy when it’s winter. You’re cold outside, hot inside, and it often feels hard for me to figure out an outfit where I’ll be comfortable (temperature wise). This jersey turtleneck is a new favorite and one I picked up on Cyber Monday. It’s perfect for layering and is so lightweight. I’m wearing the small and I’m a size 6. This one isn’t skin tight which I love because it truly is so comfortable! This outfit is perfect for a winter going-out outfit. You could take the vest off when you’re inside, and this outfit shows just a bit of skin where it’s fun for a night out while still staying classy.
But… back to these over the knee boots! As you may or may not know, not all over the knee boots are created equal. Mine, and probably every girl’s biggest complaint about a lot of pairs of over the knee boots? Many don’t stay up! I can confidently say that these are the tightest pair I’ve found yet (that won’t cost you a month’s rent). These over the knee boots zip on the side, run true to size, and are super flattering on all legs! I swear they make my legs look longer! They also come up to a flattering spot on the thigh (for reference I’m 5’5″). I’m also super into block heels lately. They’re so much easier to walk in compared to stilettos, and I love how a block heel boot looks. Again, with just a bit of height, these (compared to flat boots) are so flattering on the legs! Are you guys still into over the knee boots?! I am still obsessed!!
Thank you to DSW for sponsoring this post. As always, all opinions and ideas are my own.
