football game outfit, tailgating style, football game style, game day style, game day outfit ideas,

Whether you’re a football fan or not, I think we can all agree, that tailgating is one of the best parts about fall. I grew up going to New England Patriots games since I was a little kid (when the Patriots weren’t so good + the stadium wasn’t quite as pretty), so this time of year always excites me. Pretty sure between my dad and two brothers, I didn’t have a choice about whether I was going to be a football fan or not 😉 . In college, I was on the sidelines as a cheerleader, so I was never able to tailgate or put together much of a game day outfit. My biggest decision was always which bow to put in my hair or what lip color to rock that game.

One thing I’ve realized over the past few years is just how different game day style is depending on which college you go to and where your college is located. At the University of Maine where I went to college, game day attire was always very casual since we were usually trying to keep from freezing our bums off. Not joking, there was a game my freshman year that was a full out blizzard (we were cheerleading in Ugg boots + Hunter boots). From what I’ve seen, game day style in the South looks much different than the East Coast and the Northern states. Girls in the south tend to get a little bit more dressed up than those in the Northeast, while those of us in the Northeast tend to rock cozy-chic styles. No matter your style, I’ve rounded up some of my favorite game day outfits to give you inspiration for your next football game. Maybe try out a different look! PS. I just discovered a few new websites to buy game day clothing that I linked at the bottom of this blog post!

12 WARDROBE STAPLES YOU NEED FOR FALL

I can truly say that I’m getting excited for fall and feel like I’ve accepted that Summer has come to an end. It takes a while to fully accept it, am I right?! For me, Fall has always meant new beginnings, partly because I’ve always been a teacher, but I think it’s true. It always feels like a chance to start over. And if you’re feeling bummed about Summer coming to a close, just remember, it doesn’t mean you have to stop doing adventurous, fun things!

I have so many great memories of being a child and preparing for school to start back up. It meant getting a new wardrobe and new school supplies. Anyone else remember arguing with your mom in Limited Too about why you really NEEDED a $40 bedazzled t-shirt? It’s funny to look back on (we were all crazy). And was anyone else SO excited to get new school supplies?! I would practically start begging to go to Staples or WalMart in July. Call me crazy, but I always looked forward to it.

As an adult, I still try to take the time to purchase at least a few new items to add to my closet for the coming year. For me, it makes me more excited for the coming season. While there’s absolutely no need to completely overhaul your entire wardrobe, if you’re looking to do so, or are looking to buy quite a few items for Fall, I’ve rounded up twelve staples that I feel are worth it.

why you should wear white after labor day, white outfits, fall outfits, fall style, white after labor day, trench coat, white trench,

I hope you guys had a wonderful Labor Day weekend! It was pretty low key over here. I stayed in Boston this weekend which was so nice after three weekends in a row being jam packed. Sunday was freezing and raining in Boston, but then Monday was so gorgeous I dreamed of it being like that here year round. We had lunch outside at Tatte (a local favorite… you must go if you’re in Boston) and walked the Charles River Reservation parkway. If you’re looking to get outside, it’s a great walk to do (also makes a great running loop). It was hard to not get sentimental about the last weekend of summer, but I keep trying to remind myself that just because the last weekend of summer is over, doesn’t mean you can’t still enjoy the nice days that are sure to come. One of my favorite bloggers, Liz from Pure Joy Home had the best talk about this on her Instagram Stories and it was exactly what I needed. So remember – just because summer’s over doesn’t mean you can’t find the good in the little things and make the warm days special. Now let’s get excited for fall 😉 .
