I hope you guys are having a great week! I had such a great weekend in Newburyport with a few blogger friends. Unfortunately, you guys couldn’t see any of it on Instagram stories because I broke my phone Friday night (oops). Nothing too major, just dropped it and the touch screen stopped working. Side note: if you ever mess up your screen, my boyfriend discovered this company called Puls that literally sends someone straight to your door in an hour (even on Sundays) to fix your phone screen. It was $100 (cheaper to fix the screen than to buy new phone with my phone insurance). I loved that they were open on Sunday so I could get it taken care of over the weekend. Seriously such a relief. If you’re ever in a bind, I highly recommend it.

This new top is my absolute favorite. And so inexpensive. Unfortunately, it’s sold out (however is available in plus size), but I linked similar fall florals above. I must admit, I’ve never been too attracted to the bell sleeve trend, but these sleeves have just a slight ruffle/slight bell sleeve. It’s definitely on the sheer side, but not so sheer that you’re seeing everything. For the weekend, you can also get away without wearing a tank top under it depending on the color of your bra. I’m wearing a nude bra under it and you can’t see much other than a little bit of my stomach. If you didn’t feel comfortable, you could wear a black tank top.

This top is honestly perfect for fall and winter. I have definitely shied away from wearing florals during fall and winter in the past, but with the correct color palette and textures, you can absolutely get away with it. Not seen in the photos, I also paired this top with a leather jacket which was a nice way to “edge it up” a bit for fall and winter. The fact that there’s different textures coming into play also makes it completely appropriate for colder temperatures. I’ve rounded up some tips for you guys below. My number one tip would be to choose an item that’s “base color” is on the darker side. For example, this top’s base color is black which makes it completely do-able for fall and winter. I like to stick with neutrals. You may consider shying away from tops with a base color of white or super bright colors for this time of year. But… the best part of fashion? You make up the rules, and whatever you want to wear and feel comfortable in is all that matters. 🙂

TIPS FOR WEARING FLORAL PRINTS ALL FALL + WINTER LIKE A FASHION BLOGGER

1. Opt for neutrals (This dress is a great option).
2. To be a bit edgier, opt for a sheer fabric (this top is super cute).
3. Don’t be afraid to make a statement with floral pieces such as a kimono or booties.
4. Try to stick to a dark base color such as black or navy. Even if the actual flowers are brighter, the darker color of the clothing item will make the item look less over the top for fall + winter.
5. Don’t be afraid to wear different textures. Pairing a floral piece with different textures and fabrics like leather, fur, and velvet, will automatically make the floral piece look more seasonally appropriate.
