HOW TO SLOWLY TRANSITION YOUR WARDROBE FROM WINTER TO SPRING

I’ve always been a firm believer of a slow transition of one’s wardrobe from season to season. As ready as I am for spring, part of me feels wrong completely jumping into brights and floral patterns while the weather fluctuates between 30 degrees and 60 degrees every other day! Until it gets consistently warm, I’ll be wearing neutrals with light layering and accesorizing with a small pop of color. At the start of late winter spring, I like to add subtle color by adding a scarf, clutch, or earrings that have a pop of color. As you can see, for this outfit I kept color to a minimum, but am planning on slowly adding brights back into my outfits in the next couple weeks. 🙂

For this outfit I paired a lightweight, nude colored sweater from Zara with a “teddy bear” faux fur vest from Asos (on sale for $30 right now if you’re a size small)! I purchased this vest from Asos in late fall and have been really happy with how versatile it is. It’s great for layering, keeping you warm, and is a great alternative to a cardigan or sweater. Plus I’ve been able to dress it up or down. I love vests for transitioning between seasons because they can be layered effortlessly over a long sleeve top in the morning when it’s cooler, and then can be taken off in the afternoon once it’s warmer. I’ve paired this with black distressed jeans from Top Shop (also available in tall and petite by the way) and ballet inspired lace up flats from Steve Madden. I purchased these lace up flats over the summer and it seems to be a trend that’s here to stay for awhile! Whenever I wear something a bit more feminine or dainty, I like to pair it with something a tad more edgy in order to balance out the outfit. Distressed jeans do a great job of balancing out feminine pieces as do leather jackets.

As always, thanks for reading! I hope you guys had a great weekend! I had a pretty low key weekend (sometimes I love having no plans and no commitments), but did have a wonderful dinner at Casa de Pedro with my boyfriend and a couple of our friends on Saturday night. For those of you in Boston who love Venezuelan food or those who may be interested in trying- this place is truly amazing and also authentic. Their margaritas are some of the best I’ve found in Boston so far (fruit puree, no sour mix)!! Since spring and summer will be here before we know it, below I’ve linked some of my favorite lace up shoes that are on my wish list! In the next couple weeks I will be posting more ways to transition your wardrobe from winter to spring. What are some of your tips and “must haves” for transitioning your wardrobe from winter to spring?
