BLACK + BLUE SPRING DAYTIME LOOK

We were lucky enough to have another gorgeous couple days in Boston this weekend, with weather in the 60’s. It was an all around great weekend getting to catch up with great friends, venturing outside to enjoy the sunshine, and homemade brunch. I met up with one of my best friends (and long-time college roommate) to get drinks Friday night, and then went on a double date Saturday night to get dinner and drinks (there seems to be a theme here… detox time?)

This outfit I’m wearing is another way to transition your wardrobe from winter to spring. I can’t get enough of wearing these distressed jeans, which are great to wear throughout the year. I paired them with a silky, light blue wrap top, and added a color pop of orange with my earrings and clutch. I almost never think to pair something like blue and orange together, but it was one of those days where I grabbed the earrings and clutch and ran out the door. I love when it works out that way, or you have a vision of something in your head and it actually comes out as great as you imagine! In winter or fall I would opt for booties, but wearing wedges gives this outfit more of a spring vibe. I found the wedges at DSW for like $20. If you’ve never been to DSW, it’s worth going and hunting for hidden gems. I’ve even found last minute NYE gold pumps there literally on the night of NYE for $10!

My number one obsession in this outfit is the clutch. My friend Sara introduced me to this brand, Alaina Marie, a Portland, Maine based company which specializes in handmade clutches, wallets, and wristlets. What’s unique about Alaina Marie is that the materials used to make their products are the same materials used in the lobstering and fishing industry in New England. I love buying local whenever I can, but especially when it’s such a beautiful, high quality product. Each item is handmade and unique – no two are exactly alike. In the year 2016, when online shopping is so readily available to everybody, it can be really hard to find products, clothing, and accessories that not every. single. person. already has. This clutch is sure to bring some unique flair to your wardrobe, and of course, being a Maine girl myself, I have such a soft spot for this company. Next on my wish list is this one! As always, thanks for reading, and I hope you guys had a great weekend!
