Black Cold Shoulder Jumpsuit

During the winter, it can often seem hard to stay warm without sacrificing style. I love wearing jumpsuits for dressier occasions, when you want to look put together like you’re trying, but also want something that covers your legs and feels as comfy as wearing sweatpants. Meet the jumpsuit.

Black Cold Shoulder Jumpsuit

Last week I was lucky enough to be invited out to dinner at Mei Mei for an influencer event hosted by Squarespace. Squarespace hosted influencer events all Thursday and Friday to celebrate their customers in the city of Boston. Some of the customers included Lamplighter Brewing Company, Little Donkey, Mei Mei, and Mida to name a few. Unfortunately, life gets in the way, AKA my day job, and I was only able to attend the dinner at Mei Mei.

I can’t say enough great things about this place. Mei Mei has Chinese and American inspired cuisine, and uses almost completely locally sustained ingredients. Mei Mei has a goal of making sure that every ingredient will be locally sustained at some point, and has so much in the works in order to achieve this goal. Eating food that is local and supports local businesses is something that has become so important to me, and it just feels better when you’re able to enjoy a great meal, while also supporting an ethical business that see the importance of supporting local, family based producers.

Events like these make it hard for me to know what to wear. I was unsure how dressy of an event it was, but I’ve always thought that it’s better to be just a little bit too dressy, rather than under dressed. Since I needed an outfit so last minute (always happens) I ventured to the mall. I prefer to do most of my shopping online because I hate crowds, trying on clothes, and always seem to roll up to the mall when I’m in full hanger mode. Anyone else lol?! Anyways, my go-to stores are usually Nordstrom & Zara, and luckily Zara came in so clutch.

Zara has been having an incredible in-store sale, at least at the mall in Natick, which is usually where I go when I go to a mall because it’s close to my day job. I’m not kidding when I say that this jumpsuit was $9.99!!! I probably would have gone down a size, (this one is a medium), but this is the only one they had, so I figured I could make it work.

I love the sheer, cold shoulder sleeves that are on trend, but also, with a neutral color like black, you usually don’t have to worry about looking too trendy. The inside of the jumpsuit is lined at the top to give the look of a tank top. The subtle polka dots are enough to give the outfit a little bit more drama, without making it look tacky.  I must say, that i was a little bit nervous to try wearing a wide leg trouser look, however, with a dainty heel on the bottom, I think the outfit pulled together really nicely.

Opt for a heel with a wide leg trouser or any jumpsuit, as it will elongate your frame and helps to avoid looking heavy on the bottom, or just looking short. While I couldn’t find this jumpsuit anywhere online, go to your local Zara to see if you can score this amazing deal. I couldn’t believe that it was only $9.99!! And if you run out of luck finding this jumpsuit, these statement earrings are on major sale for $8! I’ve been wearing them constantly since I got them.
