Casual Winter Date Night Outfit

Equal parts cozy and chic, today I’m sharing one of my favorite looks for a casual winter date night outfit, and how you can rock a statement scarf!

I don’t know about you guys, but I tend to keep date night outfits pretty casual around here, especially when it’s winter. When we do go out for date night, it’s usually dinner and drinks, and pretty casual. We usually like to keep it easy, especially on Fridays after a long work week, and go somewhere close to our apartment, or somewhere within a short uber ride.

While it’s true that I love getting dressed up, it often seems like the last thing I want to do during the winter is show bare legs when it’s freezing out. I tend to wear a lot of jeans, booties, and over the knee boots this time of year. If I do get somewhat dressed up, I tend to wear a dressy top and have dark jeans on.

This scarf is my absolute favorite new addition to my scarf collection (I have a lot). I love that it’s long; Making it somewhat of a statement piece in the outfit, plus it’s nice a big, incredibly warm, and perfect to cozy up in. Honestly, one of my favorite things about this scarf is that it’s not wool! I find wool so itchy, especially since I have the most sensitive skin. Wool items just tend to make their way to the bottom of my closet, never to be worn or seen again!

Lastly, I got this faux leather jacket a couple years ago from Zara, and have been so impressed with how it’s held up for being faux leather (also doesn’t have that strange smell that a lot of faux leather and suede items have). While mine is a couple years old, this faux leather jacket is an amazing price, and is almost exactly identical to mine (like so identical I’m convinced they were made at the same factory with different brand names slapped on them). Don’t wait too long if you’re planning on purchasing, because H&M’s items tend to sell out very quickly, and don’t get restocked as often as somewhere like Nordstrom. I also love this faux leather jacket that is very similar!

If you don’t have a leather jacket or a faux leather jacket, they’re a great way to add a little bit of edginess to an outfit. When I’m dead set on wearing one but it’s freezing out, I’ll still wear it under a winter coat, since once you get to wherever you’re showing it off, you’ll probably be taking your winter coat off anyway!
