I hope you guys had a great weekend, especially you mamas celebrating Mother’s Day! This was the first Mother’s Day I haven’t spent with my mom which felt a little weird, but it was great to celebrate Mother’s Day with Geoff’s mom and family. Saturday night we went to the Party in the Park Gala at the Decordova Sculpture Park & Museum which was such a fun time! I swear people thought we were crashing it and that we weren’t actually invited so that was hilarious to see the looks from people hahaha. Unfortunately we didn’t really get any photos from the night, but hoping to recreate and feature what I wore in a post soon! I swear some of the best nights are when you take zero photos!! Do you guys ever feel that way?

I wore this casual and comfortable look for Mother’s Day. I knew I wanted something that would feel effortless while also looking a little bit put together since it was Mother’s Day after all. Since it’s still been a little too chilly in Boston for bare legs, I decided to wear white jeans underneath this dress, and was so happy with how it turned out (I love when things look as good as you envision them to)! This tunic-looking top is actually a dress, but it’s so short that I probably wouldn’t wear it as dress unless it’s over a bathing suit to the beach. I’ve been all about the white jeans lately and I honestly don’t care that it’s not Memorial Day yet haha… Rules are meant to be broken, right? Side note: Looking to buy a new distressed pair- anyone have suggestions on amazing fitting jeans?

But now for the item in this post that I’m soooo obsessed with… these earrings! I’ve been wanting to buy them for a while from Bauble Bar, but sometimes I just never get around to actually ordering things. I found these at Nordstrom the other day and was super excited!! I will say, they feel surprisingly heavy and for some reason the one I put in my right ear will not stop falling out (or maybe I have weird ears)… I lost the back and now had to take a back from a different pair of earrings…. sigh!!! Seriously story of my life… I don’t know why it’s so hard to hold onto earring backs, but I have a serious problem. And if a store wants to start selling just purely earring backs that are universal for all earrings I would be the happiest girl and probably your number one customer! But anyways, these earrings are just stunning, especially in person, and I love that they are unique! They are the perfect way to bring some fun to an outfit, and are an awesome statement piece with a pop of color. For a more dramatic effect you can try wearing your hair up!

Having a great jean jacket is just something you have to have if you don’t already! I bought mine last season but it’s almost identical to the ones here and here. I didn’t mind spending a little bit more on mine since I knew it would last me many seasons (especially because I almost always only wear it in the spring or early fall). As far as styling a jean jacket, they look amazing with flowy dresses and white jeans. The only thing to be careful about when wearing a jean jacket is that if you’re wearing it with jeans you should pick a bottom that is lighter or darker than the jacket. Nothing worse than a complete denim outfit in the exact same shade from head to toe- I think it’s called a Canadian tuxedo. 😉

We have a little park and playground area right near our apartment building and the cherry trees have finally bloomed (I swear the ones in DC peaked like a month and a half ago… Just goes to show you how behind the ball the weather has been in Boston in the past month). There’s three or four of them in a line and they look so pretty!!! I have a feeling that in the next couple days they will go by and I will be sad about it, but then the pink petals will look so pretty on the sidewalk for a couple days! The good news is that since we had an entire week of rain last week, everything is looking so green and in bloom!! I love this time of year and I just wish they would stay like that all year 🙂 We’ve almost survived Monday! Hope you guys are having a great start to the week!
